Shaolin 12 Spring Legs

Tan Tui

Build the foundation beneath your Kung Fu.

Tan Tui means Spring Legs.

It is a traditional Northern Chinese training system used to develop strong stances, coordinated movement, flexibility, balance and martial timing.

The twelve routines teach the body how to connect:

Feet.

Legs.

Waist.

Hands.

Movement becomes organised from the ground upward.

Tan Tui is suitable for beginners, returning practitioners and experienced martial artists who want to strengthen their foundations.

What the Tan Tui Course Includes

The online training may include:

    • Step-by-step instruction in the twelve routines
    • Stance and balance development
    • Leg conditioning and mobility
    • Whole-body coordination
    • Traditional martial applications
    • Partner-work concepts
    • Downloadable training guidance
    • Historical and philosophical context

The course is organised progressively.

You do not need to learn all twelve routines at once.

The Tan Tui Lineage

Tan Tui has a long history within Northern Chinese martial practice and was later adopted as an important Shaolin foundational system.

The 1MindBodyFitness teaching was passed to Dr Jeff Lan through his teacher, Shifu Siu Yu Fok, in the traditional teacher-disciple manner.

The deeper history, lineage account and names of the twelve routines are included on the dedicated course page and in Dr Jeff Lan’s written work.

Peng Nan Wing Chun

Structure before force.

Wing Chun is a close-range Chinese martial art built around efficient structure, coordinated movement and calm response.

At 1MindBodyFitness, we teach the Peng Nan lineage, also commonly written as Pan Nam Wing Chun.

The system was transmitted to Dr Jeff Lan through Liang Dong Sheng.

This branch retains internal training principles alongside the physical hand forms and martial applications.

What Wing Chun Develops

Training focuses on:

    • Structural alignment
    • Rooted stance
    • Efficient movement
    • Relaxed power
    • Close-range coordination
    • Sensitivity principles
    • Breath and internal connection
    • Calm under pressure

The aim is not to overpower every movement.

It is to use the body more intelligently.
