Recovery & Resilience
We teach sustainable practices rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and classical internal arts.
🌿 Five Elements Internal Arts Framework (Interpretive Layer)
Within the Recovery & Resilience system, the Five Elements Internal Arts Framework provides a Traditional Chinese Medicine-based model for understanding how the body responds to stress, environment, and daily life demands.
Rather than existing as a separate practice, it acts as an interpretive framework that explains why different resilience tools work in different situations.
In this system, recovery patterns are understood through five functional dynamics:
-
-
- Wood: stress response, tension release, adaptability
- Fire: emotional regulation and nervous system activity
- Earth: digestion, grounding, and stability
- Metal: breath, structure, and resilience
- Water: deep recovery, rest, and energy restoration
-
These are not abstract concepts. They describe how the body naturally shifts between states of regulation, fatigue, recovery, and adaptation.
In modern life, where chronic stress and nervous system overload are common, this framework helps explain why recovery is not linear — it is cyclical and state-dependent.
The Five Elements model therefore connects all practices in this system, including Qigong, Tui Na, breathwork, nutrition, and daily self-care routines, into one coherent structure.
Recovery is not separate from training — it is training. Resilience is built through consistent, intelligent self‑care. At 1MindBodyFitness, we teach sustainable practices rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and classical internal arts.
This page brings together five core resilience pillars:

🌸 BalanceHER Women’s Qigong
BalanceHER Women's Qigong is the women's wellbeing pathway within our Recovery & Resilience framework.
Developed by Amanda Lan, a 7th Dan Kung Fu practitioner and 5th Dan International Health Qigong technical coach, BalanceHER uses short, practical Qigong-based movement and breathing practices to help women develop greater body awareness, emotional balance, and everyday resilience.
Designed for real life, many practices take just a few minutes and can be integrated into work, home, or travel without special equipment.

🧘 Tui Na – Chinese Massage for Self‑Care
Tui Na is a traditional Chinese therapeutic massage system that has been used for centuries alongside acupuncture and herbal medicine. Through rhythmic pressure, stretching, and acupressure techniques, it helps support circulation, ease muscular tension, and encourage healthy movement of Qi.
Whether you are looking to reduce everyday neck and shoulder tension or develop a deeper understanding of meridian-based bodywork, Tui Na offers practical self-care skills that complement an active lifestyle.
Explore:
- Self-Tui Na techniques for everyday tension
- Acupressure points for common areas of discomfort
- An introduction to meridian pathways and body awareness
- Practitioner-level training through our Martial Arts Therapy programme
🍚 Asian Eating for Longevity & Health
Food is more than nutrition—it is part of daily self-care.
Inspired by Traditional Chinese dietary principles, this section explores how seasonal eating, balanced meals, and simple everyday ingredients can support energy, digestion, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.
Topics include:
- Seasonal eating throughout the year
- The Five Tastes and balanced meals
- Warming and cooling foods
- Congee and restorative recipes
- Everyday ingredients traditionally used to support vitality
The emphasis is on practical, sustainable habits rather than restrictive diets. Start stayin' young cooking.
🌬️ Breathwork & Meditation

Explore practices including:
- Abdominal (Dantian) breathing
- Foundational Qigong breathing methods
- The Six Healing Sounds
- Guided meditation and body awareness
- Short breathing resets for everyday life
These practices can be integrated into work, training, recovery, or quiet moments throughout the day. Explore without limits, with an all access pass.
📋 Daily Recovery & Resilience Practices
Recovery is built through consistent daily habits rather than occasional intensive effort.
Our practical routines are designed to help you integrate internal arts principles into everyday life, whether you have two minutes or twenty.
Examples include:
Gentle morning mobility and breathing
Midday posture and movement resets
Self-care techniques using Tui Na and acupressure
Breathwork for stress regulation
